FLAC Disability Discrimination Case and Feedback

14 October 2025  |  by Colm O'Halloran  |  on Discrimination

FLAC recently represented a client in a disability discrimination case against a crèche.  The case was settled and we received this feedback from the client.

“I can’t thank you enough for all your help, helping me fight for my daughter’s rights, thanks for having her side as much as I do, this means the world to us both.

This money will pay for a lot of my daughter’s therapies without waitlist and it means so much to us, it’s literally life changing and I will never forget everything you've done for us !”

The feedback is not only a reminder that discrimination, when it arises, must be robustly challenged, but also highlights the importance of access to legal services for all.

Eilis Barry, FLAC’s Chief Executive and FLAC nominee on the Review of Scheme of Civil Legal Aid has highlighted the shortfalls within the current civil legal aid scheme, and proposed necessary recommendations in which comprehensive reform is long-overdue.

See the publication of the Civil Legal Aid Review reports here for more information, and particularly, FLAC’s call for the implementation of the Civil Legal Aid Minority Report recommendations, which can be accessed here.
