Roundtable: Public interest law and litigation in Ireland

30 June 2006

FLAC organised a series of seminars throughout May and June 2006 addressing various aspects of Public Interest Law and Litigation (PILL) in Ireland. The series was intended to provoke discussion around PILL and followed a major conference in October 2005 which brought together lawyers, NGOs and activists from Ireland and abroad. (A printed proceedings from this conference is available as well as a DVD of the event.)

This roundtable event was intended to discuss and hopefully reach agreement on elements of the possible shape and delivery of a PILL strategy. Community Legal Resource has been engaged as consultants for the process and will make a presentation at the conference on its findings as to how PILL should be developed in Ireland. Delegates had an opportunity to input into the final report through their participation in workshops on the day.
