URGENT: Volunteer lawyers needed for Arklow centre

16 March 2010

The Legal Advice Centre based in the CIC in Arkow is currently experiencing a shortage of solicitors and/or barristers, which is seriously impairing the service offered to people locally, despite rising demand for help with legal queries.

At the moment, the service is available on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. While the centre operates an appointments system, right now the service is over subscribed.

We are looking for qualified barristers/solicitors who would be interested in volunteering their time once a month for this worthwhile service. We can facilitate legal advisors who wish to sit in with our current solicitor for a couple of sessions to get an idea of the types of queries presenting at the clinics. Please contact FLAC or contact Martina Cronin, Manager of Bray CIC, who will provide further details - tel: 01-286 0666.
