Legal rights organisation FLAC has published the latest issue of FLAC News, its quarterly newsletter, with a focus this issue on debt.

The newsletter, now in its 19th year, features analysis of the Enforcement of Court Orders legislation, the Caroline McCann case against Monaghan Credit Union and FLAC's appearance before the Oireachtas Committee on Social and Family Affairs to speak about over-indebtedness. It also covers the launch of FLAC's report on the debt enforcement procedure in Ireland, To No One's Credit, and outlines the research behind the book.

Elsewhere, the newsletter presents a round-up of FLAC's latest casework and law reform work, including important developments in social welfare law, and reports on the volunteer legal advice centre in Finglas as well as a new study on access to justice and the latest information on FLAC's new project, the Public Interest Law Alliance (PILA).

During 2009, the 40th anniversary of FLAC's founding, FLAC News is looking back through its archives and this issue features photos, news and clippings from the 1980s and 1990s. In addition, it reports on celebrations held to mark this important milestone for the legal rights body.

You can access FLAC News online in PDF format or request a print copy from the FLAC office.
