Submission to the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs on Establishing a Modern Statutory Framework for Charities
Summary
FLAC welcomes the publication of the consultation paper and the opportunity to make a submission to the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs on the consultation document. FLAC, as a human rights organisation and as part of the community legal sector has a special interest in the development of Charities law in Ireland.
FLAC also has a special interest in seeing the inclusion of human rights in the statutory definition and how the educational and campaigning functions of non- governmental organisations will be addressed so as to facilitate their inclusion within the statutory definition.
